Dan Elberty joined the Ithaca coaching staff in 1999 as head coach of the Bombers' junior varsity program.

He had spent the previous 16 years coaching at various high schools throughout New York State, including eight seasons at nearby Lansing, where he is an elementary school teacher. His coaching background also includes ice hockey, baseball, and track & field.

Elberty played three years of football at St. Lawrence. The Saints reached the NCAA semifinals in 1982.
