Biography

2006: Ashkar played in four games as Ithaca’s back-up quarterback and led the Bombers on touchdown drives in three of those appearances. He completed a pair of passes for 18 yards in the season-opening win over Buffalo State and ran for a career-best 20 yards a week later in the Hartwick victory. In Empire 8 wins over Norwich and Utica, he completed his only pass in both games. He was named to the Empire 8 Presidents’ List following the fall and spring semesters.
 
2005: Ashkar lined up as Ithaca’s third quarterback in every game. He led the Bombers on a fourth-quarter scoring drive in the win at Utica, matching career-highs by completing both his passes for 29 yards and throwing for a personal-high 29 yards. He was named the team’s Hustler of the Week for his performance in practice leading up to that win.
 
2004: Ashkar played in a pair of games as a freshman. He made his varsity debut in Ithaca’s season-opening win over Buffalo State. Six weeks later he completed a pair of passes – including a five-yard completion for his first career touchdown pass – in the Utica win.

High School: A 2004 graduate of West Genesee High School, Ashkar was coached by Dallas Barton and Dave Mancuso. He served as team captain and was a first-team all-league selection as a senior. Ashkar was also an all-league basketball player; his coach was former Bomber all-American Steve Dunham, a 1994 Ithaca graduate.
