2011: Avant was a back-up cornerback and member of Ithaca’s especial teams units. He made four appearances and recorded a solo tackle on a kickoff in the win at Hartwick. 2010: Avant earned his first letter after playing in every game as a reserve cornerback and special teams stalwart. His six tackles in kick coverage ranked fifth on the team. 2009: Avant earned a late-season call-up from the junior varsity team and made his varsity debut in the win over #25 Alfred. He was named Ithaca’s Defensive Scout Team Player of the Week following the win over Utica. | 2009 game-by-game statistics

High School: A 2009 graduate of Valhalla High School, Avant was coached by Frank Nucaro. He lettered three times and earned all-Section I honors. Avant was a two-time all-league pick and was Valhalla’s captain and team MVP as a senior.

Personal: A sport management major, he is the son of Myron and Yvonne Avant.
