Biography
Career statistics
2011: Conti started every game at cornerback and ranked second on the team in both interceptions and pass break-ups. He ran back his first interception of the season for an 88-yard touchdown in the win at Hartwick, becoming the first Bomber ever to record three career defensive touchdowns. Conti added a pass break-up in that victory and also blocked a fourth-quarter extra-point attempt (that would have pulled the Hawks to within seven points). He also intercepted a pass against Alfred. Conti made a season-high six tackles (including one for loss) at #21 Salisbury and matched that total in the come-from-behind win over Frostburg State. He broke up two passes in the win at Union and added two more pass break-ups at Utica. | 2011 game-by-game statistics
2010: Conti earned first-team all-conference and third-team all-region honors after starting every game at cornerback. He led the team with six interceptions (matching the program’s ninth-highest single-season total) and seven pass break-ups. Both were career-high totals, as were Conti’s 28 tackles and three tackles for loss. He became the first Bomber to ever score on a fumble return and an interception return in his career (and just the second to score more than one defensive touchdown), running an interception back 66 yards for a score in the season-opening victory over St. Lawrence and returning a fumble 12 yards for the final touchdown in the Utica win. Conti made a season-best seven tackles at Lycoming and matched that total a week later in the Homecoming win against Hartwick. He recorded his first career sack in that game. He broke up a pair of passes against #17 St. John Fisher. He was named the team’s Honorary Defensive Captain after the St. Lawrence win. | 2010 game-by-game statistics
2009: Conti led the team in pass break-ups despite missing two games. He made eight starts at cornerback and ranked third on the team with three interceptions. His first two career pick-offs came in the win at Utica; both set up fourth-quarter scores. Conti, who collected a career-best 10 tackles in the game, was named Empire 8 and ECAC Upstate NY Defensive Player of the Week and earned a spot on D3football.com’s Team of the Week. A week earlier, he made three tackles in the win over Widener and forced and recovered a fumble following the only catch of the game by a Pride receiver who’d caught 10 passes the week before. Conti was named Ithaca’s Outstanding Back after both those wins and also earned the award after the St. John Fisher game. He collected seven tackles, including his first career sack, in the win over #25 Alfred after missing two games with an injury. He intercepted a pass on his own six-yard line in the Cortaca Jug win. Conti was one of Ithaca’s top special teams players, recording five tackles in kick coverage. |
