Biography

2015: Team captain… Named Empire 8 Sportswoman of the Year... Started and played in 15 games for the Bombers… Member of the strong Ithaca defense that allowed 0.89 goals per game...Helped the Bombers' defense secure eight shutout wins over the course of the season...Season highlight came against Brockport on Oct. 31, where she dished out an assist and led the defense to a 5-0 shutout win. | 2015 game-by-game statistics
 
2014: Shnider played in 11 games for the Bombers during the year, starting in eight. She was a member of an Ithaca defense that allowed only 1.56 goals per game, which ranked second in the Empire 8. She was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Scholars of Distinction list, an honor given to student-athletes who achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2014-15 academic year. | 2014 game-by-game statistics

2013: Shnider started in all 18 of Ithaca’s games during the season. She was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Scholars of Distinction list, an honor given to student-athletes who achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2013-14 academic year. She was part of a defensive unit that was among the best in the conference, allowing just 2.00 goals per contest. Shnider had a defensive save against Utica on Nov. 9. | 2013 game-by-game statistics

High School: Shnider is a graduate of Bernards High School. She earned three varsity letters in field hockey for coach Sarah Falzarano and one varsity letter for coach Ashley Jenasko in track and field. Laurel most recently earned all-conference honors and was named a scholar athlete.

Personal: Laurel is a dual major in exercise science and physical therapy. She is the daughter of Rob and Amy Shnider.
