Ithaca College Athletics

Jim Schutt begins his third season as an assistant coach of the Ithaca College field hockey program in 2019. 

A USA Field Hockey Level Two certified Coach, Jim most recently was involved in coaching the FM Sting field hockey club team. Prior to Ithaca he worked with the Southern Tier Storm club field hockey team and in previous years served as an assistant coach for Vestal High School’s varsity field hockey program helping them to back to back New York State Regional Championships - a first for the program. For the past several years, he has enjoyed coaching privately and working with athletes of all abilities from high school through NCAA Division 1.
 
In total, Schutt has been involved in coaching field hockey for over 14 seasons, originally supporting his two daughters. His oldest daughter, Emilly, is a senior member of the varsity field hockey program at NCAA Division I James Madison University. His younger daughter, Erika, is a sophomore field hockey athlete at NCAA Division III St. Mary’s College of Maryland.

Jim lives in Vestal, NY with his wife Jerrie of 23 years. He has a degree in Civil Engineering and is currently employed as a Compliance Specialist for New York State.
