You must be tested for COVID-19 within 72 hours of traveling to New York. You must submit confirmation that you are scheduled to be tested. Since some counties are not able to provides results as quickly as others, it is not required that you receive your results prior to returning. Submit your confirmation to healthcenter@ithaca.edu and to your head coach. If you do not submit this you are not permitted to return to campus.

Once results from this 72-hour test are available, those must also be submitted to the Hammond Health Center by email to healthcenter@ithaca.edu and the Head Athletic Trainer, Mike Matheny matheny@ithaca.edu. All student-athletes will quarantine in Emerson Hall to streamline the process. Even those student-athletes that were able to make arrangements for their own quarantine will be in Emerson Hall.

Prior to returning to campus we’re asking that you voluntarily quarantine for 14-days and to be tested for COVID-19 prior to traveling to Ithaca. You must be free of any symptoms. Pack lightly as move-in assistance is not available. Be sure to have your student ID. It will be required for check-in and to gain access to your residential room or apartment.

Resocializing Intercollegiate Athletics – Medical Clearance.

Student-athletes must have already completed their required NCAA Compliance and Medical Forms in ARMS. In addition to the submission of these forms student-athletes will also need to be medically cleared for participation. Resocializing Intercollegiate Athletics – Facility Access.

Due to safety protocols all facility access will be schedule and supervised. There will be no “open” facility times.

Face coverings/masks are required during all athletics activities. The athletics department will post a “team store” offering several options of face coverings to suit personal preferences. Each student-athlete will be provided subsidizing towards their purchase. While subsidizing might not cover the total cost, we recommend student-athletes purchase at least two face coverings.

Laundry service will be provided daily.

Access to Athletic Training Clinics and Athletic Trainers is by appointment only. Drop-in appointments will not be available.

Athletics participation will be conducted in small group “pods” with a phased return to activity under the guidance of the coaching staff, athletic training staff, and strength and conditioning staff.

Resocializing Intercollegiate Athletics – Expectations.

Student-athletes are expected to adhere to the Ithaca College Community Agreement and the Bomber Promise. This includes but is not limited to agreeing to testing and daily health screening for COVID-19 and any potential quarantining, reporting any known or potential exposures to COVID-19 to athletic training staff, monitoring your symptoms for COVID-19, staying home if you feel sick, practice social distancing and avoiding large gatherings when possible, frequently washing and/or sanitizing your hands.

Our athletics participation is important to your student-athlete experience. We’re all responsible for and accountable to every Bomber.
