2012-13 Stats
2011-12: Brenon capped his career with all-America honors, placing eighth at the NCAA Championships. He won his first bout at nationals by decision and recorded a pin to advance to the all-America round. Brenon won his second consecutive ECWC title, giving up a total of four points in his semifinal and final victories. He ranked fourth on the team in falls and finished his career with 21 pins – good for 17th on the program’s all-time list. He took second at York’s New Standard Corporation Invitational.
2010-11: Brenon earned his first trip to nationals, where he was seeded first at 157 pounds, by winning the ECWC championship. He won three bouts at the conference meet, including a one-point victory in the final. Brenon (ranked second nationally at the time) used a last-minute takedown to defeat Division III’s top-ranked wrestler in Ithaca’s win at #23 Delaware Valley. He was named ECWC Wrestler of the Week after that performance. Brenon won tournament titles at the Ithaca Invitational and York’s New Standard Corporation Invitational. He finished the season 25-3 with five pins and four major decisions.
2009-10: Brenon opened his Bomber career by winning the Ithaca Invitational title. Seeded eighth, he beat the top seed by a point then dispatched the fourth seed with a seven-point decision. Brenon was named ECWC Rookie of the Week for his performance. He earned all-state recognition with a sixth-place finish at the New York State Championships. He took fifth at York’s Spartan Classic where Ithaca won the team title. Brenon’s 10 pins ranked second on the team. He won two other matches by major decision.
2008-09: Brenon attended Jefferson Community College.
High School: A 2008 graduate of Immaculate Heart Central High School, Brenon was coached by John Babcock. A state champion and three-time finalist at the New York State Championships, he won four Section III titles.
Personal: A recreation management major, he is the son of Steve and Lisa Brenon.
