Biography

2010: Butare started all 15 games for the Bombers in the defensive midfield. She had three shots on the season.

2009: Butare was a lineup regular as a sophomore. She played in 16 games and started 15 on defense for the Bombers, including Ithaca's shutout of Brockport. Butare's first career point was an assist at Washington & Jefferson. She recorded a defensive save at William Smith.

High School: A graduate of Bridgewater-Raritan High School, Butare played four years of field hockey and earned three letters for head coach Kathy DeBonis. The team won county, sectional and state championships and Butare served as a team captain as a senior. She also played one year of varsity lacrosse.

Personal: Julie Anne is an occupational therapy major with a minor in health policy and management, and the daughter of Rick and Michele Butare.
