Biography

2011-12: Connors finished his Ithaca career by participating in the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships for the first time, and earning his first-career all-American finish by placing 13th on the 200-yard freestyle relay team. He added five all-state finishes, including a UNYSCSA championship in the 400-yard medley relay. That relay, along with the 200-yard freestyle relay won Empire 8 titles.

2010-11: As a junior, Connors won the UNYSCSA championship in the 50-yard freestyle for the third consecutive year. He added six additional all-state finishes during the championship meet, where he also earned Empire 8 titles in the 50 free and 400-yard medley relay, and three Empire 8 runner-up finishes on relay teams. Connors was named Empire 8 Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 30.

2009-10: Connors continued his impressive Ithaca career as a sophomore with a UNYSCSA and Empire 8 championship in the 50-yard freestyle. He earned five additional all-state honors and two more conference runner-up finishes at the season-ending meet. Connors was named Empire 8 Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 25, 2010 after leading the Bombers to a dual-meet win at Rochester.

2008-09: Connors was Ithaca’s top freshman performer and the Empire 8 Rookie of the Year. He earned UNYSCSA and Empire 8 Championships in the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle relay and was named Rookie of the Meet at the state and conference meet. His times of 20.92 seconds in the 50 free and 45.91 seconds in the 100 free set school records. Connors added Empire 8 runner-up and all-state finishes in the 400 free relay and 800 free relay. He was also an all-state honoree in the 200 free. Connors was named Empire 8 Athlete of the Week for the week ending Nov. 3 after winning the 50 free and 100 free and swimming the first leg of the winning 400 free relay that clinched Ithaca’s victory over Rensselaer.

High School: A 2008 graduate of Spartanburg, Connors was coached by Mike Faltraco. He was a five-year letter winner and was a three-time Individual AAAA High School State Champion.

Personal: A dual-major in physical therapy and writing, he is the son of Vince Connors and Isaure de Baron.
