Biography

2012-13: Sherry competed in the 200-yard medley relay at the UNYSCSA Championships to earn all-state and All-Empire 8 Second Team honors. She was also named All-UNYSCSA after finishing fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke. 

2011-12: Sherry made her third trip to the NCAA Championship meet as a junior and earned two all-America finishes as a member of the 200- and 400-yard medley relay teams. Sherry also earned all-state finishes in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke finals by placing third at 100 yards and fifth at 200 yards.

2010-11: Another all-America finish for Sherry highlighted a successful sophomore year. She was on Ithaca's 200-yard medley relay that placed 10th at the NCAAs. Sherry added four all-UNYSCSA finishes and two Empire 8 runner-up finishes at the state and conference championship meet. Sherry posted the season-best times for Ithaca in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke.

2009-10: Sherry earned All-America honors as a freshman as part of Ithaca's 200-yard medley relay team that placed 11th at the NCAA meet. Sherry was Empire 8 runner-up in both the 200-yard medley relay and in the 100-yard breaststroke. She earned all-state honors on that 200 medley relay as well as in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke. Her time of 1:05.29 in the 100 breast is the third-fastest in school history and her mark of 2:25.68 in the 200 breast is fifth-best.

High School: A 2009 graduate of Orchard Park High School, Sherry swam for head coaches Art Aungst and Deb Dourlain. She competed in breaststroke events, earning six varsity letters. She was a 2004 state champion in the 200 medley relay, a two-time sectional runner up in the 100-yard breaststroke, a state finalist five years in a row in the 100-yard breaststroke, captain of the team in 2007 and 2008, and an all-American in the 100 breast in 2008. She also swam at the club level for coach Rick Aaronberg at Star Swimming and coach Matthew Greene at FAST.

Personal: An exercise science major, she is the daughter of David and Linda Mailey.
