Biography
2011-12: Murphy competed in distance freestyle events.
2010-11: Murphy swam in distance freestyle events as a junior.
2009-10: Murphy earned four all-state honors and a runner-up finish in Empire 8 competition during the state and conference championship meet. Murphy was second in the finals of the 1,650 free with a time of 17:48.18. She was also earned all-state honors in the 200 free and 500 free, and was on the fourth-place finishing 800-yard freestyle relay team.
2008-09: Murphy led Ithaca in the distance freestyle events and has already made a mark on the Ithaca record board by posting the fastest time in program history in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:39.10) and 1,650-yard freestyle (17:42.48) and the second-fastest time in the 500 free (5:07.56). She was a five-time All-UNYSCSA honoree including in three individual events and was a member of the all-state and Empire 8 runner-up 200-yard freestyle relay team.
High School: A 2008 graduate of Blake high School, Kelly earned four letters in swimming & diving.
Personal: The daughter of Bob and Lynn Murphy, she is a business major.
