Biography
2007-08: Hamman swam on Ithaca's 400-yard freestyle relay team that finished fourth in the UNYSCSA championships (3:10.54) and ranked second in the Empire 8 at the same meet. In individual events, Hamman was 11th in the Empire 8 in the 200-yard backstroke (2:05.10), 16th in the Empire 8 in the 100-yard backstroke (58.50) and 18th in the conference in the 100-yard freestyle (50.36).
2006-07: Hamman was a member of three all-UNYSCA relay teams at the state meet, swimming with the fifth-place 400-yard medley relay team, the sixth-place 400-yard freestyle relay team and the seventh-place 200-yard freestyle relay team. Hamman also scored in three individual events at the state championships, placing 14th in the 100-yard freestyle (49.68), 19th in the 50-yard freestyle (23.05) and 22nd in the 100-yard backstroke (58.66). Hamman recorded a third-place finish at RIT’s Don Richards Invitational in the 100-yard backstroke. After the season, Hamman was named to the UNYSCSA All-Academic team.
2005-06: Hamman competed in the freestyle and individual medley as a freshman. He finished 24th in the 50-yard freestyle at the state championships (23.03) and was 28th in the 100-yard freestyle (51.03).
High School: A 2004 graduate of Henderson High School, Hamman was coached Jeff Bott. He was a four-year letter winner as a member of the swimming & diving team and served as team captain his junior and senior years. Hamman was a three-time pick for the All-Area team and a member of a 2005 All-American 200-yard freestyle relay squad. He also lettered as a member of the football team.
Personal: A clinical health studies/physical therapy major, he is the son of Paul and Gail Hamman.
