Biography

2006: Veilleux earned all-ECAC honors with a fourth-place finish in the uneven bars (9.425). Her top score (9.45) was good for first place at Ithaca’s season-opening meet. Veilleux qualified for the finals at nationals, placing 10th overall. Her top scores in the floor exercise and vault were 9.5 and 9.175, respectively.
 

2005: Veilleux was among Ithaca’s top competitors in the vault, uneven bars and floor exercise. She earned all-conference honors on the vault and the uneven bars, finishing third in both events at the ECAC Championships. At the NCGA Championships, Veilleux qualified for the individual competition on the uneven bars, finishing 10th. She recorded a score of 9.500 or higher six of the nine times she competed in the floor exercise, including a first-place finish against Springfield (9.600). Veilleux also won the uneven bars competition in a dual meet with Brockport.

2004: Veilleux earned all-ECAC accolades in the uneven bars; her 9.525 at the ECAC meet was the second-highest score ever by an Ithaca gymnast. Veilleux also ranks second on Ithaca’s list for the floor exercise, thanks to her 9.8 at nationals. She also recorded the program’s fourth-best vault score, posting a 9.6 in her first competition in that event. In her only other two vault competitions, Veilleux placed eighth at the ECAC Championships and 14th at nationals. She was the runner-up in the uneven bars at Ithaca’s Harriet Marranca Invitational.

High School: Competing at Sterling Gymnastics, Veilleux was coached by John Lavalee, Terry Lavalee, Marlyce Mancini and Stacy Moreno. In 2001 she placed third in the all-around at Level 8 regionals, and a year later she placed fifth in the all-around at Level 9 regionals and qualified for the Eastern Nationals. In 2003 she placed fifth on the uneven bars at Level 10 regionals and qualified for the New England Nationals in 2002 and 2003.

Personal: The daughter of Rich and Jennifer Veilleux, she is a psychology major.
