Biography
2007: Knauf earned second-team all-conference honors. She led the Bombers with 35 ground balls and ranked second with 30 draw controls and 17 caused turnovers. She recorded three two-goal performances: in wins over Sweet Briar, Hartwick and Utica. She collected a career-best three assists in the season-opening win over Wells. Knauf picked up a career-high five ground balls in the win over Elmira and matched her personal-high with four draw controls in the wins over Sweet Briar and #6 Cortland and tied a career-high with three cased turnovers against Wells, Buffalo State and Alfred.
2006: Knauf was named a first-team Empire 8 all-star for the second year in a row. She scored the first two goals of her career against Mary Washington and added five more scores, including the game-winner against RIT. Knauf ranked second on the team with 13 caused turnovers and fourth with 13 draw controls. Against Utica, she collected career-best totals of four draw controls, three caused turnovers as well as four ground balls and a goal. She was named to the Empire 8 Presidents’ List following the fall semester.
2005: Knauf was one of only two freshmen to earn first-team Empire 8 all-star recognition. She led the Bomber freshmen with 15 caused turnovers and her 37 ground balls were fifth on the team. Knauf picked up a season-high five ground balls in Ithaca’s upset at #19 William Smith. She recorded a season-high four draw controls against Ohio Wesleyan in her collegiate debut. She was named to the Empire 8 Presidents’ List following the spring semester.
High School: A 2004 graduate of Irondequoit High School, Knauf was coached by Kelly Moran. She was a second-team all-county pick as a junior and senior and served as team captain both years.
Personal: A speech language pathology & audiology major, she is the daughter of Tom and Karen Knauf.
