Biography

2009-10: McCord competed in the long jump, triple jump and 400-meter dash at the NCAA Indoor Championships during her junior campaign. An ECAC champion in the 400 dash, McCord was a five-time state champion en route to earning Track Athlete of the Meet accolades at the NYSCTC Indoor Championships. She also earned Track Athlete of the Meet at the Empire 8 Indoor Championships having won four events and went on to be named the Empire 8 Indoor Track Athlete of the Year. A three-time Empire 8 Athlete of the Week, McCord competed in nine various events throughout the indoor season and recorded season-bests of 7.29 and 7.97 in the 55 and 60 dash events, respectively, 25.72 in the 200 dash, 40.83 in the 300 dash, 57.65 in the 400 dash, ran a leg of the Bombers’ 1:45.56 800 relay and 4:06.98 1,600 relay, and recorded season-best marks of 5.86 meters in the long jump and 11.73 meters in the triple jump. During the outdoor season, McCord finished fourth in the 400 dash at the NCAA Championships to become a four-time all-American in a school record setting time of 55.79. A three-time Empire 8 Athlete of the Week, she was named the Empire 8 Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year after winning the 100 and 400 dashes and placing second in the long jump at the conference meet. Also a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team member, McCord earned all-state honors after a runner-up finish in the 400. Setting a school record of 12.01 in the 100 dash, she also tallied individual season-bests of 25.07 in the 200 dash, 5.59 meters in the long jump and 11.28 meters in the triple. McCord ran the opening leg of the Bombers’ 49.69 400 relay and the third leg of Ithaca’s 4:01.15 1,600 relay.

2008-09:
McCord was a two-time all-American as a sophomore, doing so in the 200- and 400-meter dashes during the outdoor season. In the 200, she ran 24.95 to place fifth in the nation. She was seventh in the 400 with a time of 56.55. In addition, she placed 18th in the long jump at the NCAA Championships. McCord also qualified in the 400 and triple during the indoor season, placing 10th in the 400 and 14th in the triple jump. McCord repeated as Empire 8 Track Athlete of the Year for the indoor and outdoor seasons. Indoors, she won conference titles in the 55-meter dash and 200-meter dash, and placed second in the triple jump. Outdoors, she won the 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash and triple jump and was a member of Ithaca’s runner-up 400-meter relay team. McCord also won seven NYSCTC titles, winning the 55-meter dash, 200-meter dash, long jump and triple jump at the indoor state meet and the 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash and triple jump outdoors. She was ECAC champion in the 400 at the indoor and outdoor championship meets. McCord broke five records as a sophomore. Indoors, she set new marks in the 60-meter dash (7.93), long jump (5.46 meters) and triple jump (11.65 meters). She broke school records in the 200-meter dash (24.70), long jump (5.70 meters) and triple jump (11.40 meters) in the spring.

2007-08: McCord became the 38th Bomber in the program’s history All-American after placing fifth in the 400-meter dash at the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a time of 55.92. She swept the Empire 8 awards during the outdoor season, named Track Athlete of the Year, Field Athlete of the Year, and Rookie of the Year. She was Track Athlete of the Year and Rookie of the Year during the indoor season. During the indoor season she was Empire 8 champion in the long jump, triple jump, 55-meter dash and 200-meter dash. She was outdoor champion in the long jump, triple jump, 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash, 400-meter relay and 1,600-meter relay. She was also NYSCTC champion in the 400-meter dash and 400-meter relay. In addition, McCord was named to the All-ECAC team four times and the All-NYSCTC team nine times during her freshman year. McCord set 10 school records as a freshman: the indoor records in the 60-meter dash (8.11), 200-meter dash (25.730, 300-meter dash (43.44), 400-meter dash (57.35), 800-meter relay (1:47.79) and triple jump (11.17 meters), and the outdoor records in the 200-meter dash (25.16), 400-meter dash (55.92), 400-meter relay (48.58) and 800-meter relay (1:43.58).

High School: A 2007 graduate of Rancocas Valley High School, McCord earned all-league honors in the 200-meter dash and 1,600-meter relay and ran on the winning 1,600-meter relay team (small school South Jersey) at the Penn Relays. McCord served as team captain and also lettered in volleyball.

Personal: A biochemistry major, she is the daughter of Marcus and Ruth McCord.
