Biography

2008-09: Lin was a member of the 800-meter relay squad that ran a school-record 1:31.39 at the indoor NYSCTC Championships. That quartet placed second in the state, while also garnering all-ECAC honors with a sixth place finish. Outdoors, Lin was a member of the 400-meter relay team that was Empire 8 and NYSCTC champion and placed fifth at the ECAC meet. Individually, Lin earned all-state honors by placing eighth in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.88. He placed third (6.67) in the 55 at indoor Empire 8 Championships and fourth (11.34) in the 100-meter dash at the outdoor Empire 8 Championships.


2007-08: Lin was a member of the Empire 8 champion 400-meter relay team during the outdoor season. The relay team also placed second at the NYSCTC Championships and fifth at the ECAC Championships. Individually, Lin placed third (6.77) in the 55-meter dash at the Empire 8 Indoor Championships. He also placed in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes at the outdoor conference meet, finishing third (11.27) and fifth (23.13), respectively.

2006-07: Lin won the indoor Empire 8 title in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.78. He finished 13th in the state meet in the event. Lin recorded four top-10 finishes during the indoor season, including a second-place finish in the 55-meter dash (6.71) and a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash (24.16) at the RIT Invitational. He was honored as Empire 8 Athlete of the Week following the meet. Outdoors, Lin earned all-state and second-team all-Empire 8 honors in the 400-meter relay, running with Ithaca’s eighth-place relay squad. Lin ran with the third-place 400-meter relay team at the New Jersey Invitational, helping the Bombers to third-place team finish. Lin ran a career-best time of 11.42 at the Cornell Big Red Invitational.

High School: A 2006 graduate of Taipei American High School, Lin was a two-year team captain and was a three-time 100-neter dash champion in the Interscholastic Association of Southeast Asian Schools conference. A three-year MVP, he won titles in the 100, 200 and 400-meter dashes as a senior. He also lettered in basketball and cross country.

Personal: A physical therapy/athletic training major, he is the son of Han-Chieh and Shu-Ya Lin.
