Biography
2007: Medla earned first-team all-state and all-conference honors and second-team all-region recognition after starting every game for the third year in a row. She led the Bombers in points, goals and caused turnovers and her became the program’s 25th 100-point scorer. Medla was named Empire 8 and ECAC Upstate NY Player of the Week after opening the season with 20 points in four Bomber wins; that output included a goal and three assists (including one on the game-winning goal) in Ithaca’s upset of #6 Cortland. She scored a career-best seven points in the season-opener against Wells and recorded a personal-best five goals against both Sweet Briar and Buffalo State.
2006: A starter in every game for the second year in a row, Medla earned second-team honors on the Empire 8 and IWLCA New York Region all-star teams. She scored a team-best 34 points and her Ithaca-leading 29 goals included the overtime game-winner against Hartwick. Medla recorded four-goal performances against Mary Washington, RIT and Rochester, collecting a career-best five points in the Mary Washington game. She also collected a season-high three draw controls in that game.
2005: Medla was one of only two freshmen to start every game. She was the team’s fourth-leading scorer and her 25 draw controls ranked third on the Bombers. Medla scored a pair of goals against Ohio Wesleyan in her first collegiate game and recorded eight other multiple-goal games. She scored a season-best four points in the win over St. John Fisher in the Empire 8 championship tournament and also posted three-goal efforts in wins over Rochester and #13 Hamilton. Medla recorded a career-high six draw controls against seventh-ranked Colorado College.
High School: A 2004 graduate of Brewster High School, Medla was coached by Doris Schukin. She earned three letters and served as team captain her senior year.
