Ithaca College Athletics

2005-06: Mitchell placed 15th in the 200-yard butterfly at the state championships with a time of 2:10.68. He also finished 27th in the 100-yard butterfly (59.18) and was 35th in the 200-yard individual medley (2:21.18). Mitchell also competed in the 50-yrad freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke events.

2004-05: Mitchell turned in two top-15 performances at the Empire 8 Championship, recording the 14th-fastest time in both the 100- (58.59) and 200-yard (2:15.54) butterfly events. Against Alfred, Mitchell was a member of the third-place 400-yard medley relay team. In Ithaca's victory over Rochester, Mitchell finished fifth in the 200-yard butterfly and also swam with with the fourth-place 400-yard medley relay squad.

2003-04: Mitchell competed at the state meet in the 100- (29th, 1:00.49) and 200-yard (27th, 2:22.96) butterfly events. In Ithaca's win over Cortland, Mitchell earned points as a member of the fourth-place 200-yard freestyle relay team and by finishing fifth in the 100-yard butterfly. At the Rensselaer Invitational, Mitchell swam with two top-10 relay squads.

High School: A 2003 graduate of Southside High School, Mitchell was coached by Dan Hulslander. He was a four-year letter winner as a membe of the swimming & diving team and served as team captain his senior year. Mitchell competed in the butterfly events and was named team MVP his junior year. He also lettered as a member of the tennis team.

Personal: A television-radio major, he is the son of Fred Mitchell and Mary Jane Dugan.
