Biography

2006: Shalett, a third-team NFCA all-region selection and first-team Empire 8 all-star, started all 47 games behind the plate, batting .362 with 54 hits, a team-leading 46 runs scored, 22 RBI and 15 stolen bases hitting in the leadoff spot. She also had a .997 fielding percentage with a team-best 274 putouts, 21 assists and just one error in 296 chances. Shalett had 15 multi-hit games, including a three-for-four effort with three runs scored in a win over Utica. She was named the all-tournament team at the NCAA Northeast Regional tournament and was named the Empire 8 Player of the Week once. Shalett was an Empire 8 Presidents' List selection following the fall and spring semesters.
 
2005: Shalett was a first-team Empire 8 all-star and a second-team NFCA Northeast Region all-star. She batted .288 with a team-high 12 doubles and ranked second on the team with three triples. She was third on the team with 55 total bases. Shalett was named to the NCAA Northeast Regional all-tournament team after collecting five hits, including a home run, three RBI and three runs. She was named the Empire 8 and ECAC Upstate New York player of the week after compiling a .429 batting average, .857 slugging percentage, and .600 on-base percentage in the Empire 8 tournament. Shalett hit a game-winning RBI double in the seventh inning against St. John Fisher to clinch the conference title. In 12 conference games she batted .419 with 13 hits, including six doubles, a triple and a home run, nine runs and eight RBI.

2004: Shalett earned first-team NFCA northeast region honors, first-team ECAC Upstate NY honors and first-team Empire 8 honors. She batted .317 with four home runs, 27 RBIs and 14 doubles. Shalett ranked second on the team in home runs and doubles and third in RBIs. She did not make an error in 127 chances. She was named to the all-tournament team at the NCAA regional, hitting three doubles with three RBIs. Shalett was a two-time Empire 8 player of the week. She hit her first career home run and double in a win over Bridgewater State. Shalett pounded two home runs in a sweep of Alfred, batting 3-for-4 with seven RBIs. She was named to the Empire 8 fall Presidents’ List.

High School: A team captain, Shalett was a four-time Berkshire League all-star for coach Dick Ayer at Shepaug Valley High School. In 2001, Shalett also earned state tournament MVP honors in field hockey.

Personal: The daughter of Karen Shalett, she is a sociology major.
