Biography

2005-06: Young went 2-1 in double play during the fall season, recording wins over Hobart and Nazareth at the Flower City Tournament.
 
2004-05: Young posted 15 wins as a sophomore, competing primarily at first doubles and fourth singles. He won his first singles match of the season against Nazareth (6-2, 7-6 [10-8]). His doubles team won three straight matches to win the consolation bracket at the ITA championships. He picked up wins at singles and doubles over Elmira in the Empire 8 Tournament and a singles win over Nazareth in the conference semifinals en route to and Empire 8 honorable mention in singles play.

2003-04: Young, a second team Empire 8 all-star in doubles, competed primarily at fourth singles and second doubles. He won all five matches at the Empire 8 championships. Young won singles and doubles matches against Green Mountain College, Elmira, Hartwick and St. John Fisher. He earned his first career singles victory in a dual meet against Nazareth. At the Flower City Tournament, Young won his singles and doubles matches over Nazareth. Young was named to the Empire 8 Spring Presidents’ List.

High School: At Pocono Mountain High School, Young was a four-year letter winner in tennis. He was named a District XI first-team all-star, as he was a doubles finalist and singles quarterfinalist during his senior season.

Personal: The son of Alan and Marie Young, he is a business administration major. His sister, Megan, is a 2004 graduate of Ithaca.
