Biography

2004-05: Stubbs won the 184-pound title at the ECWC Championships. He posted a win at nationals, where his losses came to the seventh and eighth seeds. He placed at two other tournaments, taking third at the Ithaca Invitational and fifth at the Empire Open. Stubbs was named an NWCA Scholar All-American. He posted the team’s best dual-meet record (14-1) and ranked second on the team in wins and takedowns.

2003-04: Stubbs was the runner-up at the ECWC Championships, defeating the tournament’s top seed and then posting a win in the true second-place match. He earned all-state accolades for the first time with his fourth-place showing at the state meet. Stubbs opened the season by placing fourth at the Ithaca Invitational. He was named an NWCA Scholar All-American and ranked among Ithaca’s team leaders in points (fourth) and takedowns (fifth).

2002-03: Stubbs won 17 matches (second among Ithaca’s freshmen). He was a place-winner in three tournaments, taking fifth at both the Roger Williams and RIT invitationals. He also finished sixth at Millersville’s Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Classic.

High School: At General Douglas MacArthur High School, Stubbs was coached by Howie Greenblatt.

Personal: An organizational communication, learning and design major, he is the son of William and Theresa Stubbs.
