High School: Markwardt graduated from Ithaca High School where he earned four varsity letters in track and field. He was a two-time All-Section selection in the 2014 and 2015 season. Markwardt was honored with the Joe Moresco award. He also earned four varsity letters in swimming and two in cross country.
Personal: Jakob, son of Kevin Markwardt and Laurie Cuomo, is a Documentary Studies and Production major.
