Biography
High School: Smertz graduated from Abington Heights High School where she earned four varsity letters for swimming under Mary Gromeiski. Â She also earned three varsity letters in tennis under coach Thomas Lavelle. She was her team captain her senior year and helped her team become 2013 District Champions. Smertz junior year she earned the Coahes Award and was a state qualifier all four years.
Personal:Rachel, daughter of Alan and Michele Smertz, is a physical therapy major.
