ITHACA, N.Y. – D3football.com announced its weekly Team of the Week on September 8 following the first games of the 2026 season and Ithaca College junior punter Caleb Wandell was selected as the top punter in the country after his performance at Johns Hopkins last Saturday.

Wandell averaged 45.0 yards on four punts with a long of 72 yards, which is the second-farthest in program history, in a 30-21 loss at No. 4 Johns Hopkins. Two of his punts landed inside the 20-yard line, with just one touchback and Hopkins did not return a punt in the contest.

He becomes the 66th player in program history to be named to the D3football.com Team of the Week dating back to 1999. The honor continues IC's presence on the national honor roll as the Bombers have placed at least one player on the Team of the Week in 26 of the 28 years in which it has been announced.
