ROCHESTER, N.Y. -
The Ithaca College women's cross country team took on some of the top teams in the Niagara Region at the Rochester Yellowjacket XC Invitational at Genesse Valley Park hosted by the University of Rochester. In their first 6k race of the season, the women finished eighth overall out of 16 teams.

The Bombers were led by junior Hannah Pawlowski who finished 11th overall, taking home a coveted meet t-shirt which is given out to the top 20 finishers. Pawlowski ran just shy of her personal best in her first 6k of the season and is looking to make a run at the national championship meet in November.

Following Pawlowski was junior Madison Buckley who ran 24:26 to finish 60th overall. Buckley moved up 24 places from 2k to the finish. She was followed by sophomore Erika Doran who ran 24:43 for 71st, moving up 22 places from 2k to 6k.

Rounding out the Bombers scorers were junior Nicole Tellechea and senior Emma Anderson. Tellechea ran 24:59 finishing 91st, and Anderson ran 25:21 finishing 106th overall. This was Anderson's first 6k of her career as she has primarily been a middle-distance runner at Ithaca but competed in both cross country and track in high school.

Other notable performances from Ithaca included senior Autumn Valdez and first-year Ella Davidson. Valdez ran a whooping 56 second personal best of 25:23, with her previous personal best of 26:19 coming back from her freshman season in 2023. Davidson ran 25:28 in her first collegiate invitational.

SUNY Geneseo won the team race with 42 points, and RIT senior Kathryn Arbegast was the individual winner in a time of 21:53.

The Bombers will be back in action on Friday, October 2nd when they travel to SUNY Fredonia to preview the regional course at the 2026 Fredonia Kara Hall Memorial race.
