RESULTS
ITHACA, N.Y. - The Ithaca College women's cross country team took on Cornell and Cortland at a Friday evening meet at the Moakley Golf Course on Cornell's campus. The Bombers gave a controlled effort and put up some solid early season results.
The Bombers were led by junior
Hannah Pawlowski. On a tough course with about 150 meters of elevation and multiple road crosses, Pawlowski finished fourth in the race with a 19:58 time. Pawlowski beat multiple Division I runners from Cornell and finished ahead of every Cortland athlete.
The following finishers from the Bombers were sophomore
Erika Doran and junior
Nicole Tellechea. Doran finished 15th overall in 21:21, with Tellechea shortly behind in 21:25. Tellechea is looking to make the top seven for the first time in her career after narrowly missing it in her first two seasons.
Rounding out the scorers were junior
Madison Buckley and senior
Lola Gitlin. They finished 18th and 19th respectfully, with Buckley clocking a 21:33, with Gitlin finishing in 21:38. Gitlin was the Bombers' top runner last fall in her first season with the Bombers, and Buckley has been the Bombers' alternate at the regional meet in her first two seasons with the team.
Cornell took home the team title, with just 21 points in the early season matchup. The Bombers finished in third with 70 points.
The Bombers will be back in action next weekend in their first 6k of the season. They will travel to Rochester to compete against some of the top teams both in and out of the region at the Yellowjacket Invitational.
