ITHACA, N.Y. - The Ithaca College women's tennis team came up just short Friday afternoon, falling 4-3 to RIT inside Glazer Arena in a closely contested Liberty League matchup. Ithaca falls to 3-7 on the season, while RIT improves to 4-9.

The Bombers battled back after dropping the doubles point, winning three singles matches to stay within striking distance, but RIT sealed the match with victories at the top of the lineup. RIT claimed two of the three doubles flights to earn the opening point. Ithaca's lone doubles win came at No. 2, where the team of
Madeleine Sutro and
Ava Casell-Lapetina earned a 7-5 victory.

In singles play, Ithaca picked up wins at three positions.
Madeleine Sutro evened the match with a straight‑set win at No. 3 singles, taking down her opponent 6-4, 6-3.
Ava Casell-Lapetina followed with a decisive 6–1, 6–2 victory at No. 4, giving the Bombers momentum in the middle of the lineup. The decisive third point for Ithaca came at No. 6 singles, where
Jade Vadeboncoeur rallied after dropping the first set to earn a three‑set win, 2–6, 6–0, 6–4.

RIT ultimately secured the match with wins at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 5 singles, including a hard‑fought three‑set decision at the fifth position. Next up, Ithaca will take on St. Lawrence on Saturday, April 11 at 2 p.m.
