ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's lacrosse team breezed to a 22-1 victory over Bard on Friday afternoon at Higgins Stadium to improve to 7-3 on the season and 4-2 in the Liberty League.
The game began with Bard getting the first draw control; however, Bombers'
Phoebe Hosford got an early caused turnover to give the Bombers back possession. The first goal of the game came from
Emma Hardy off an assist from
Anna Dahlman. The Bombers then went on a four-minute, four-goal run as
Lily Cody netted a pair of goals, while
Sydney Smith and
Taya Dukes each notched one.
Out of a time out,
Leigh Naturale was able to capitalize on an assist from Dahlman as the Bomber jumped out to a 6-0 lead. With 3:52 left in the first quarter, Bard netted its first and only goal of the game. To quickly respond, Cody and Naturale each netted goals to extend the lead to 8-1.
Early in the second quarter, Bomber goals came from
Kelly Augeri and Hardy. With 13:42 remaining, Dukes snagged a draw control and then brought it all the way to the goal, netting the Bombers' 11th goal. Lily Pena then netted a goal on a free position shot as
Katelyn Ikle drove a seam and put one past the Bard defense.
Paige Smith then netted a goal off an assist from Naturale and Augeri capitalized on a free position shot to send IC into halftime with a 16-1 advantage.
Out of the halftime meeting, P. Smith netted a feed from Augeri.
Kelly Kilbourn netted her first goal of the season just and P. Smith capitalized, giving herself a hat trick on the day. With 3:15 left in the quarter, Pena nets the Bombers 20th goal.
Kilbourn netted her second early in the fourth quarter off an assist from
Aubrey Holowinski.
Kacie Krauland then scored her first career goal late in the quarter, giving the Bombers a 22-1 win over Bard.
IC will host Vassar tomorrow at 2 p.m.
