ITHACA, N.Y. – D3baseball.com released its Team of the Week for the fourth week of the season on March 11 and two members of the Ithaca College program were recognized at their position following their performances over the past seven days.
Lucas Orlovitz, a third baseman, started off the 2026 season by hitting .500 (7-for-14) with three home runs, 12 RBI, nine runs scored, three walks, a double and triple in five games. Orlovitz slugged 1.357 and posted an on-base percentage of .632 during IC's 3-2 week. He began the week with a 2-for-4 game with three RBI, a double and triple in a loss to Scranton and then went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI in an 18-14 win at Washington College. The week concluded with a doubleheader sweep of Arcadia in which Orlovitz went 3-for-6 with three home runs, seven RBI and five runs.
Anthony Mestre, an outfielder, exploded offensively in his first collegiate week as he went 10-for-19 (.526) with 14 RBI, 10 runs scored, five stolen bases and three home runs. In a doubleheader split at Washington College, Mestre was 4-for-9, including a double, with five RBI, four runs and two stolen bases. He then smacked three home runs, including a grand slam, in a sweep of Arcadia as he batted 6-for-10 with nine RBI and six runs scored.
On Monday, Orlovitz was named Liberty League Performer of the Week and Mestre was selected as Rookie of the Week.
They are the
18th and 19th players from Ithaca to be named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week since 2012. The duo is also just the second pair to be named to the weekly team since
Colin Leyner and
Ethan Daddabbo also earned the honor on the same week (April 28-May 4) last season.
