Women’s Basketball Falls to Clarkson, 68-59

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's basketball team battled through a cold shooting start to Saturday's contest at Ben Light Gymnasium but ultimately fell to Clarkson University by a score of 68-59.

The Bombers opened the game with early energy as Tori Drevna knocked down a three-pointer off a crisp assist from Grace McNamara. Clarkson responded quickly, however, controlling the tempo and closing the first quarter with a 22–11 lead.

Ithaca tightened up defensively in the second quarter, holding the Golden Knights to 14 points while adding 11 of their own. Despite the improved play, Clarkson maintained a double-digit advantage heading into halftime.

The Bombers came out strong after the break, using a third quarter push to cut the deficit to just five points. McNamara helped fuel the rally as Ithaca closed the quarter trailing 48–43, generating momentum heading into the final 10 minutes.

Clarkson regained control in the fourth quarter with timely shooting and consistent play at the free-throw line, sealing the 79-69 victory. Grace McNamara led all IC scorers netting 19 points to go along with seven rebounds. Madison Gill and Natalie Tucker also finished in double figures with 15 and 10 points apiece.

Ithaca shot 40.3% from the floor while the Golden Knights converted 48.3% from the field and held a 45-32 advantage on the boards.

With the loss, Ithaca moves to 7–14 overall (4–10 Liberty League). The Bombers will look to bounce back on Friday, February 13, when they travel to Bard College at 5:30 p.m.
