Liberty League Performers of the Week for February 23

Women's Track & Field – Field Performer of the Week – Talia Hutchinson

Talia Hutchinson solidified her spot in the upcoming NCAA Division III Championships with a mark of 3.82 meters in the pole vault to finish second overall at Cornell's Deneault Invitational, and move up to 17th in the nation.

Women's Track & Field – Track Performer of the Week – Rachel Larson

Rachel Larson took third in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.59 seconds and posted her best performance of the year in the prelim at 8.56 seconds at Cornell's Deneault Invitational on Saturday.

Men's Swimming & Diving – Swimmer of the Week – Matthew Mitros

Graduate student Matthew Mitros had his best-ever performances across the Liberty League Championships in which the Bombers won the first-time ever. Mitros earned three individual victories (50-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly, 100-yard freestyle) over the four-day meet. He also helped the Bombers earn a win in the 400 medley relay and runner-up finishes in the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay. His winning time of 19.92 in the 50-yard freestyle and the 48.38 in the 100-yard butterfly, both achieved NCAA B-cuts.

Women's Swimming & Diving – Swimmer of the Week – Kathleen Papiernik

Kathleen Papiernik earned a pair of individual wins at her third conference championship. She won the 200-yard IM in 2:06.11 and returned the next day to defend her title in the 100 butterfly with a 55.32, a performance that not only earned the Liberty League crown but also achieved the NCAA Division III B‑cut and dipped under the Association record (55.47). She was the runner-up in the 200-yard breaststroke and had a hand in two of Ithaca's five relay victories (200 medley, 400 medley).

Men's Tennis Singles Performer of the Week – Siddharth Vaada

During the Bombers 4-3 victory at the University of Rochester, Siddharth Vaada had a hand in earning the team win. He edged Tony Xu at No. 3 singles, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 where the match was eventually clinched at No. 5.

HONOR ROLL

Nick Lemmond averaged 14.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals in a 1-1 weekend for Ithaca to close out the regular season and earn a bid to the Liberty League Championship. Lemmond shot 9-of-19 from the field, including 6-of-13 from 3-point range. He began the weekend with 18 points in a loss to Skidmore and added 10 points with five rebounds in a 76-73 win over Vassar.

Thomas McKiernan contributed 31 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and three steals in a 1-1 weekend for Ithaca. McKiernan started off the weekend with 11 points, four assists and three rebounds in a loss to Skidmore and followed up with a career-high 20 points, to go along with seven rebounds and four more assists in a 76-73 win over Vassar.

Tim Rogers opened the 2026 season with a four-goal game against (RV) St. John Fisher in the 18-12 loss. Rogers was the game's leading scorer and also collected three ground balls. He found the back of the net once in the second quarter before firing home three in the fourth. After the first quarter IC outscored the Cardinals 11-8 as their comeback attempt fell short. 

Lily Cody accounted for six of Ithaca's 11 goals in an 11-10 victory at Montclair State on Saturday. Four of Cody's goals came in the second half, including two in the final 1:57 of the fourth quarter to give IC the win. Cody also recorded seven draws, four groundballs and one caused turnover.

Gabrielle Crellin caused two turnovers and picked up six groundballs in Ithaca's 11-10 comeback victory over Montclair State on Saturday.

First year Erika Doran won her first-ever Liberty League title pacing the field in the 400-yard IM. She shaved over four seconds off her morning prelims time to win the event in 4:35.18. She followed it up also scoring team points for the Bombers with an eighth-place swim and time of 18:17.47 in the 1650 freestyle as well as a sixth-place swim in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:30.44).

Anik Vossschulte won the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.07 seconds at Cornell's Deneault Invitational on Saturday. Vossschulte now ranks 38th in Division III in the event.
