No. 23 Women’s Lacrosse Wins Season Opener at Brockport, 13-10

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The nationally ranked No. 23 Ithaca College women's lacrosse team opened up its 2026 season with a 13-10 win at the College at Brockport on Saturday afternoon. Ithaca scored within the first minute of the contest and never trailed from there.

The game kicked off with the Golden Eagles winning the first draw then with a defensive stop the Bombers sent the ball back up the field allowing Kathryn Scallon to open the season's scoring. Not shortly after Taya Dukes got her first goal of the season 2:20 into the game. Late in the first quarter, a defensive ground ball from Katrina Clarke pushed the fast break for the Bombers, followed by an unlucky save, however Scallon was able to find the back of the net with 30 seconds left in the quarter with the Bomber leading, 5-3.

In the second quarter, Aubrey Holowinski assisted by Kelly Augeri netted her first career goal making the score 6-4 with 11:41 remaining in the half. Augeri then gave IC their seventh goal as she netted one of her own. Brockport was able to keep the Bomber lead within two as the score shifted to 7-5 with 2:55 in the half.

The second half draw control won by Lily Cody gave the Bombers first possession of the half in which Leigh Naturale assisted Scallon for her fourth goal of the day. Anna Dahlman scored with 2 minutes left in the third quarter for her first collegiate goal.

Emma Hardy, Cody, and Holowinski stayed consistent on the draw circle throughout the game providing the Bombers with numerous offensive possession opportunities. Mikaela Dattilo stood steady in the cage as she had nine saves throughout the game.

Ithaca will travel to Montclair State next Saturday, February 21.
