Men’s Soccer Remain Unbeaten and Improve to 6-0-1

ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 21 ranked Ithaca College men's soccer team remained unbeaten with a 1-0 win over Moravian University on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Carp Wood Field, improving to 6-0-1 on the season.

The opening minutes featured a defensive stalemate, with both teams struggling to generate scoring opportunities. Ithaca's first chance came in the 12th minute when Jack Longo fired a shot high over the crossbar. Longo followed up with another attempt shortly after, but his strike was handled cleanly by Moravian goalkeeper Casey Prajzner.

Moravian responded with its first offensive push, testing Bombers goalkeeper Bryson Shaull, who made a routine save to keep the game scoreless. Ithaca continued to apply pressure throughout the half, with shots from Ryan Levy, Gustav Bauerle, Liam Breslin, and Riley Donelan, but none found the back of the net.

The breakthrough came early in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Drew Warren sent a cross into the box that deflected off a Moravian defender and into the goal, resulting in an own goal and giving the Bombers a 1-0 lead.

Moravian nearly equalized moments later on a two-on-one fast break, but Shaull made a spectacular diving save to preserve the lead.

Ithaca's defense held firm for the remainder of the match, limiting Moravian's chances and playing conservatively to protect the advantage. In the final minute, the Greyhounds earned a corner kick and created a chaotic scramble in front of the net. Shaull made a diving stop, and Donelan came up with a clutch block on the rebound to seal the victory.

The Bombers return to action at 3:00 p.m. next Saturday when they host (RV) Vassar College in a Liberty League matchup. The Brewers were nationally ranked to begin the season but fell out of the polls this week and are still receiving votes.
