EWING, N.J. – The Ithaca College men's tennis team returned to action Friday afternoon, taking on The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) in a series of singles and doubles matchups as part of the Lions Tournament. The event serves as a final tune-up before the Bombers head to the ITA Northeast Regionals.
Ithaca posted five doubles victories on the day, highlighted by the top-flight win from
Gijs Fidler and
Luis Crespo, who defeated TCNJ's No. 1 pair, 8–6.
Ivan Kisic and
Emiliano Pedrero earned an 8–3 win, while
Shivam Udani and
Carlos Hernandez matched that score against Peyton Miller and Logan Knasiak. The tandem of
Manuel Gali Specos and
Alex Mazza secured an 8–4 victory over Curt Gruber and Olufela Fieulleteau, and
Daivat Mehta and
David Lubell rounded out the doubles success with an 8–6 win.
In singles play, Kisic cruised to a 6–3, 6–1 win over Brett Schuster, while Crespo battled back for a three-set victory over Alberto Thomas, 6–7 (6), 7–5, 10–8. Pedrero added a straight-set win (6–3, 6–3), and
Ean Lantzy edged Tomas Velez in a tight match, 8–7 (10–7).
The Bombers continue play in the Lions Tournament on Saturday, taking on New York University at 3 p.m.
