Football Offensive Performer of the Week – Matthew Parker
Matthew Parker threw for 303 yards and three touchdowns on 18-of-23 attempts in a 45-14 victory at Alfred on Saturday. Parker notched eight completions over 20 yards in the win and he did not play the fourth quarter.
Football Special Teams Performer of the Week – Caleb Wandell
Caleb Wandell was perfect in PATs, going 6-for-6, to go along with a 28-yard field goal during Ithaca's 45-14 win at Alfred on Saturday. Wandell also punted four times and averaged 44.0 yards per punt, with a long of 50 yards.
Volleyball Performer of the Week – Wesley Slavin
In a 2-1 weekend that saw No. 20 Ithaca take down No. 4 Johns Hopkins and No. 9 MIT, junior setter
Wesley Slavin helped churn out the offensive attack. Slavin totaled 123 assists averaging 10.25 per set as she also notched seven aces. Against No. 4 JHU, she turned in a double-double with a season-best 18 digs along with 46 assists. In the loss to (RV) Carnegie Mellon, Slavin had three of her six blocks on the weekend.
HONOR ROLL
Sophomore goalkeeper
Katrina Varnum made a season-high five saves to preserve her fourth shutout of the season against Nazareth. Varnum faced seven shots as the Bombers ended up tying the Golden Flyers 0-0.
Transitioning to fullback this season,
Drew Warren has helped keep the defensive backline stout this season along the way to a 5-0 start. Warren netted his second goal of the season in the 33
rd minute against Misericordia as he spun around a defender and unleashed a corkscrew effort. Warren would then help the Bombers to their fourth shutout of the season in a 1-0 win over King's College.
Emmett Enriquez notched his first two starts of the season this past week in wins over Misericordia and King's College. Enriquez scored the game-winning goal in the 1-0 victory over King's as buried the ball into the bottom right corner of the net on a one-on-one chance against the goalkeeper. The sophomore forward placed all three shot attempts on target.
Sophomore
Luis Crespo went 4-0 on the way to winning the "B" flight as part of the season-opening St. Lawrence Fall Classic. In his opening match he defeated Union's Daniel Saxe (8-2) to move onto the quarterfinals where he defeated Tejus Ranadive by an 8-5 score. Crespo would go on to defeat Michael Georgelis from Hobart (8-4) and would win the flight taking down Alexei Katelevsky of Hamilton College by an 8-2 score.
In a 2-1 weekend that saw the Bombers take down a pair of top-10 teams in four sets,
Addison Leadbetter was a force through the middle totaling 25 kills while hitting .224. She totaled a season-best 10 kills against Carnegie Mellon and had season-highs in aces with two and digs with seven against No. 10 MIT. She also totaled three blocks each against both Carnegie Mellon and MIT.
