Box Score 2 GENEVA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's tennis team wrapped up two full days of competition at the Mary Hosking Invitational as they shined collecting several wins in both singles and doubles play.
In the top singles flight,
Alys Pop won her round of 16 matchup over Emily Greb of RIT defeating her 8-5. Pop would drop an 8-5 result to RPI's Nicole Ridenour in the quarterfinals. In "B" singles,
Aenessa Rylski would also win her initial match topping Rochester's Jasmin Toor, 8-6. RPI's Kaaviya Kannan would defeat Ryski 8-0.
First year
Kyra Terman was ultra impressive coming away with a third-place finish in the "D" flight. She would defeat Kate Butler by a set score of 8-4.
In doubles action,
Alys Pop and
Sabrina Cheung teamed up to defeat Sarah Oldland and Elisa Iuri by a 6-0 score.
Madeleine Sutro and
Martina Nicora made a semifinal appearance as well as they defeated Mia Jacobs/Kaitlyn Hardy of William Smith (6-1). The Bombers duo would fall in the semis 6-2 to Hailey Kornbluth and Natalie Debowski from Rochester.
Next up, the Bombers will compete in their first dual of the season when they host Hartwick College at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17.
