ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's lacrosse season came to an end after a tough loss to the No. 3 ranked RIT Tigers in the Liberty League semifinals, with a final score of 17-6 on Friday. RIT advances to the Liberty League Championship, while Ithaca finishes the season with a 10-9 record, reaching the postseason for the first time since 2021.
The Tigers showcased their prowess as the No. 3 team in the country with explosive offense and smothering defense. The Bombers struggled to maintain possession, allowing RIT to capitalize. Seth Grottenthaler opened the scoring for the Tigers, beating
Andrew Minard to give RIT a 1-0 lead. Ithaca responded with
Brendan Occhino's beautiful cross field pass to
Kyle Savery, who tied the score at 1-1. Jack Budway quickly regained the lead for RIT, closing the first quarter with a 2-1 advantage.
RIT dominated the second quarter, scoring three consecutive goals before
Lucas Proctor found the net after a faceoff win by
Corey White.

Lucas Proctor, making it 5-2. RIT then went on a five-goal run, ending the half with a commanding 10-2 lead.
The third quarter was all RIT, as their fast and effective ball movement forced Ithaca into mistakes. The Tigers added six more goals, bringing the score to 16-2 heading into the final frame.
Despite the lopsided score, the Bombers played with determination until the final whistle.

Kyle Savery led the Bombers with two goals, while
Andrew Minard made 12 saves.
Though the loss was disappointing, the Bombers showed promise during 2025 campaign and look to carry this momentum into the offseason and into next season.
