Box Score ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's tennis team returned to the South Hill for a Saturday morning Liberty League match against Union College. The Bombers had the early advantage after sweeping doubles play, but Union overcame that to claim a 4-3 win in Glazer Arena.
Doubles action began with
Taylor Crain and
Sabrina Cheung teaming at No. 1 where they took down Kennedy Alexis and Chara Meidani, 6-1.
Alys Pop and
Ava Casell-Lapetina would follow suit as they won at No. 2 doubles via a 6-3 score and
Lauren Rodriguez and
Madeleine Sutro took down Sydney Alphabet and Calista Finkelstein, 7-5.
Taylor Crain would extend the Bombers lead as she defeated Chara Meidani by set scores of 6-2 and 6-3.
Alys Pop would win in three sets at No. 2 singles defeating Skylar Semon (2-6, 6-2, 6-2). The match came down to No. 6 singles and it didn't disappoint as it proved to be a back-and-forth affair. Calista Finkelstein came out on top over
Ava Casell-Lapetina, 2-6, 7-5, and 6-4.
Ithaca will have a quick turnaround returning to action on Sunday, April 6 in another Liberty League matchup, this time against St. Lawrence at 10 a.m.
