POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's tennis team faced a tough match on Saturday, falling 7-0 to Vassar College. This loss drops the Bombers to a 4-10 overall record and 0-6 in the Liberty League, while the Brewers improve to 7-4 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
Vassar swept the doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead. In the top flight,
Taylor Crain and
Sabrina Cheung lost 6-2 to Erin McCusker and Sofie Shen.
Alys Pop and
Ava Casell-Lapetina also fell 6-2, and
Lauren Rodriguez and
Madeleine Sutro were defeated 6-3 by Madison Kirby and Elyse Duley.
In the top flight of singles,
Taylor Crain battled Erin McCusker in a three-set match but ultimately lost 3-6, 6-2, 6-0. At No. 2 singles,
Alys Pop was defeated by Iris Li 6-2, 6-2.
Sabrina Cheung fell to Sieun Lee 6-0, 6-2, and
Madeleine Sutro lost to Anaya Krishnan 6-2, 6-2.
The Bombers will look to bounce back in their next match against Bard on Sunday, April 13 at 10 a.m.
