Box Score NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. - The Ithaca College women's tennis program wrapped up a weekend road trip on Sunday as they battled New York University. The Violets earned a commanding 7-0 win the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx, N.Y. as Ithaca now fall to 4-6 overall.
In doubles play, NYU secured victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, which helped them earn the team point. The top Bombers pair of
Taylor Crain and
Sabrina Cheung were able to score a 6-3 victory over the Violets duo of Isabella Hartman and Victoria Wang.
In singles, the Violets swept all six matches. On the No. 1 court,
Taylor Crain fell to Jimena Menendez by set scores of 6-3, 6-4.
Madeleine Sutro nearly nabbed a set at No. 5 singles but would eventually be defeated by Aditi Narayan (4-6, 1-6).
Looking ahead, the Bombers will return to Liberty League matches with three set for this week. Ithaca will travel to face RIT on Wednesday, April 2 at 3 p.m. in Rochester, N.Y.
