Men’s Tennis Wrap Up Weekend Road Trip with Loss at NYU

Box Score NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's tennis team competed in back-to-back days and had a matchup at New York University on Sunday afternoon. The Bombers dropped a 5-2 result to the Violets and now fall to 3-6 overall on the season.
 
Both the top doubles pair of Gijs Fidler and Siddharth Desai and No. 2 doubles squad of Ivan Kisic and Siddharth Vaada had competitive matchups that they ended up coming up on the losing end of a 6-4 results. NYU won each match to earn the 1-0 lead going into the singles.
 
Vaada was tested at No. 2 singles against Philip Martin as the match went three sets as the Bomber fell short (2-6, 6-4 and 3-6). The first Ithaca win was scored at No. 5 singles by sophomore Emiliano Pedrero. He was able to take down NYU's Zachary Freier in a three-set thriller with set scores of 2-6, 6-2 and 1-0 (10-7). The lone other IC win was tallied at No. 6 singles by Ean Lantzy who also won in three sets, this time triumphing 2-6, 6-4 and 1-0 (10-8).
 
Next up, Ithaca College will return to Liberty League action with a pair of home matches beginning on Saturday, April 5 when the program hosts Union College. The Bombers will then welcome St. Lawrence University to the South Hill for a Sunday matchup slated to begin at 2 p.m.
