ITHACA, N.Y. – Ithaca College head football coach
Michael Toerper has announced the addition of three new assistant coaches heading into the 2025 season. Ithaca's first game next fall is slated for September 6 at home against Johns Hopkins University, which reached the national semifinals last season.
The three new coaches arriving to South Hill and beginning their appointments on March 24 are
Ben Mason,
Will Margraff and
Will Gladney '20.
"I am thrilled to add this trio of outstanding young coaches to the Ithaca Bomber football program," said Toerper. "They each add their own unique element of expertise but most importantly they will be great motivators, mentors, and teachers for our players. With spring ball on the horizon, their arrival has added even more excitement to the next phase of our program, and we can't wait to get started!"
Mason will work with the running backs, tight ends and serve as the co-special teams coordinator. He most recently served in an offensive analyst role with Army West Point and spent four seasons as a player in the National Football League with the Baltimore Raves, New England Patriots, Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Chargers. Mason was drafted in the fifth round of the draft out of the University of Michigan by the Ravens in 2021.
If the surname sounds familiar, Mason's younger brother, Dan, played for the Bombers from 2021-23 and his father, Bob, was an All-American defensive lineman in 1986 and 1987.

Margraff, the son of the late and legendary Division III head coach Jim Margraff, will oversee linebackers as well as co-special teams coordinator. He most recently coached at Marist College during the 2024 season as a nickel/outside linebackers coach and was at the University of Pennsylvania in 2023.
Margraff graduated from the University of Maryland in 2023 with a degree in human development.
Gladney is no stranger to the sidelines on South Hill as he is arguably the greatest wide receiver to play at Ithaca College, and he will continue to work with the receivers. Following graduation in 2020, Gladney worked in the strength and conditioning and sports

performance profession for four years, training young athletes who had a passion for football. This past fall, Gladney was an assistant coach at St. John Neumann Catholic High School in Naples, Fla.
During his time as a player at IC, Gladney set numerous school records and is the program's all-time leader in receiving yards with 3,574 and touchdowns with 38. He's also second all-time with 258 career receptions. Gladney was an AFCA Second Team All-American in 2019 and the 2018 Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year.
