Men’s Lacrosse Dominates Hartwick with a 17-1 Victory

ITHACA, N.Y. – On a beautiful day at South Hill, with temperatures in the low 60s, the Ithaca College men's lacrosse team secured a dominant 17-1 win over the Hartwick College Hawks. This victory marked the Bombers' first game of their spring break, improving their record to 4-2 overall, while Hartwick fell to 1-3.

The Bombers started strong, with the Proctor brothers combining for the first four goals. Lucas Proctor opened the scoring to make it 1-0, followed by three consecutive goals from Kyle Proctor, bringing the score to 4-0. Cullen Adams and Tim Rogers added to the tally, making it 6-0 in favor of Ithaca by the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter mirrored the first, with Ithaca controlling the pace, shutting down Hartwick's offense, and capitalizing on their opportunities. The Bombers patient offense exploited Hartwick's defensive gaps, adding four more goals from Graham Brady, Ethan Adrid, and Jack Pastore, leading to a 10-0 halftime score.

In the second half, the Bombers continued their dominance. Grant Mathieson and Will Kleine each scored their first career goals, with Mathieson securing a quick fourth quarter hat trick in his collegiate debut. The IC defense maintained their strong performance, nearly achieving a shutout. However, Hartwick managed to score in the closing seconds, resulting in a final score of 17-1.

The Proctor brothers were standout performers, with Lucas recording a five-point game (three goals, two assists) and Kyle scoring four goals. Andrew Minard was solid in goal, recording eight saves and maintaining a shutout during his time on the field. The Bombers also excelled in clear attempts, going a perfect 28-for-28.

Ithaca's next game is scheduled for Saturday, March 15, at 1 p.m. in Galloway, New Jersey, where they will face Stockton University.
