Men’s Track & Field Sits in Fifth After Day One of Liberty League Championships

ITHACA, N.Y. –
The Ithaca College men's track & field team opened the Liberty League Championships on Friday at Glazer Arena inside the Athletics & Events Center and finished up the day in fifth place out of seven schools with 19.5 points.  

Luke Ellor was the Bombers' top performer on Friday with a third place finish in the shot put to earn six points for the team total as he posted a mark of 14.00 meters.

Ithaca's distance medley relay team of Aidan Loughlin, Adam Mocho, Colin Lesher and Drew Taylor posted a fourth place showing in 10:32.57.

Gabriel Lane put together one of the best showings in the meet as he finished in a tie for fifth in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.17 meters.

Evan Cherry leaped 6.63 meters on his first attempt in the long jump, which was good enough to stay in fifth place overall. Cherry would withdraw after two attempts but still posted a mark good enough to podium.

Ben Buffone earned a point for IC with an eighth place finish in the mile with a time of 4:19.89.

Three Bombers are in position to podium in the heptathlon as Matt Lokshin is in third, Noah McKibben is seventh and Rhys Tickner is eighth.

Competition resumes at 11 a.m. tomorrow.
