RESULTS
CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Ithaca College gymnastics team continued to improve as the Bombers picked up their first dual meet win of the season at Cortland on Saturday by a 191.300-191.025 final. IC has now eclipsed 190 in four consecutive meets.
The Bombers posted 47.600 during their first rotation on bars and trailed Cortland by nearly half-a-point. All six gymnasts received over 9.325 in the event as
Lauren Babineaux led the way with 9.675, which was tied for top medalist honors.
Nicole Lonski received 9.6500, while
Mya John earned 9.475.
Sienna Blake and
Kaylie Goodwin were each awarded 9.400 and
Marlena Bailey posted a performance of 9.325.
The two teams flipped apparatuses and IC pulled to within a tenth-of-a-point (95.325-95.250) with 47.650 on vault. The anchor legs of
Natalie Steed and
Grace Murray paced the rotation with 9.750 and 9.700, while John earned 9.550.
Madelynn Farragher was first to go with 9.400, while Babineaux landed with a 9.250.
IC moved into the lead after a stellar showing on floor with 48.425 to go up by 1.225 (143.675-142.250).
Corey Foster continued to shine on floor with 9.800, while
Abby Chesshire received 9.700. Murray and
Jillian Freyman were both awarded 9.650 and
Caitlin Pellegrino turned in a routine of 9.625.
Hana Miller started the rotation with 9.525.
The Bombers held on for the victory with 47.625 on beam as Cortland nearly set a program record on floor with 48.775.
Emily Kobusky and John secured scores of 9.625, while Pellegrino posted a performance of 9.600. Steed earned 9.525 and Goodwin concluded her routine with 9.250.
Ithaca is back on South Hill next Sunday, March 2 for Senior Day against Springfield at 11 a.m.
