Gymnastics Surpasses 190 For Third Straight Meet at Marranca Invitational

ITHACA, N.Y. –
The Ithaca College gymnastics team welcomed Brockport to Ben Light Gymnasium on Sunday for the annual Harriet Marranca Memorial Invitational and the Bombers eclipsed 190 for the third straight meet. Brockport prevailed in the dual, 192.450-190.525.

Ithaca started the meet off strong with 47.500 on vault to take an early lead over the Golden Eagles, who scored 46.950 on bars.

Madelynn Farragher began the rotation with 9.450, while Mya John followed with 9.475. Jessica Schmitz was up next and received 9.350, while Natalie Steed scored 9.675 out of the five slot. Grace Murray finished things off with 9.550, while Lauren Babineaux earned 9.325 in an exhibition.

The teams flipped events and IC scored 47.075 on bars, while Brockport dominated the vault with 48.350.

Sienna Blake posted a score of 9.350 to start the rotation, while Marlena Bailey received 9.200. Nicole Lonski earned the high score for the Bombers with 9.600 and Kaylie Goodwin was up next with 9.475. John finished her routine with 9.450, while Anya Kraenzel and Skye Cohen competed as exhibitions with 9.275 and 9.00.

Brockport added to its lead on the third rotation with 48.775 on floor, to Ithaca's 47.450 on beam.

The final four gymnasts for IC all received over 9.400 as Goodwin was the first by matching that mark. Corey Foster then scored 9.625, while Caitlin Pellegrino turned in a performance of 9.675. Emily Kobusky was sharp with 9.775. Abby Chesshire posted 9.075 from an exhibition slot.

Ithaca wrapped up the meet with its best performance of the day with 48.500 on floor.

Hana Miller earned 9.550 to get things underway and then Chesshire scored 9.700. Pellegrino was up next with 9.675 and Jillian Freyman posted 9.650. Foster also received a 9.700 and Murray led the way with 9.775. Cohen earned another 9.000 in exhibition.

The Bombers head to Cortland on Sunday, February 22 for its next meet.
