SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Ithaca College field hockey team saw its 2025 season come to a close in a Liberty League semifinal contest at Union College on Friday afternoon as the Bombers fell, 2-1. Ithaca finishes the year with a 12-7 overall record.
Union quickly jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute of the game. The Bombers answered with offensive pressure by earning six corners in the quarter but were unable to knot the contest.
Ithaca controlled the second quarter as well with a 3-1 advantage in shots and 3-2 edge in corners but the score remained 1-0 heading to intermission.
The Garnet Chargers then added another goal in the third quarter just over five minutes in on a long pass from the left side through the circle to an unmarked player just a few yards from cage to make it 2-0.
Ithaca was able to put a goal on the board as
Payton Yahner scored off a pass from
Brenna Schoenfeld was just over three minutes left in the contest. The Bombers were unable to create another chance the rest of the way.
IC ended up outshooting Union, 9-7, and posted an 11-4 advantage in corners.
Maeve Clark stopped two shots in goal.
