No. 24 Women’s Swimming & Diving Celebrate Senior Day with Win over Gannon

ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 24 ranked Ithaca College women's swimming & diving program returned to Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium on Saturday as the program celebrated senior day with the Bombers besting NCAA Division II Gannon University, 204.5-93.5.
 
In her second-place finish Naomi Fry recorded a season-best time of 1:56.13 in the 200-yard freestyle as she was just over a second off the pace. Elke Beaumont would also do so as she paced the field in the 100-yard backstroke at 58.87. Fry would go on to win the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:11.37, also a season-best.
 
First year Sydney Koehler continued her strong season with another win in the 100-yard breaststroke as she led a one-two-three finish with time of 1:05.06, followed by Claire Weppler's 1:07.80 and Emma Kidd's 1:09.46. Claire Weppler would lead another Bomber one-two finish in the 200-yard breaststroke with her recorded time of 2:22.66, which was just followed by Koehler's time of 2:22.84. Kathleen Papiernik tasted victory in the 100-yard butterfly as she topped teammate Elizabeth Bodie with times of 56.66 and 57.34, respectively. The sophomore also won the 400-yard IM with her time of 4:37.57. In diving action Kaille Payne won on both the 1-meter (309.82), and 3-meter (325.95).

Divers will return to action on Sunday as part of the Dick Comanzo Diving Invitational at 10 a.m. and they along with the rest of the team will travel to SUNY Geneseo on February 1 for a dual at 1 p.m.
