ITHACA, N.Y. – Ithaca College volleyball saw
Faith Sabatier,
Naomi Clauhs and
Ellie Benedict each honored with College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors as announced by the national organization on Tuesday, December 17.
Additionally, Clauhs is up for nomination for CSC Academic All-American laurels after earning All-Conference honors, as well as First Team All-Region III and AVCA All-American Honorable Mention recognition earlier this fall. All three of the IC selections have tallied better than a 3.7 grade point average for their careers.
CSC Academic All-District selections are recognized for their combined performance in the classroom and in competition. Those having earned postseason recognition per their conference or region are then up for national consideration per the voting of sports information directors who are members of CSC across the nation.
Clauhs was a First Team All-Liberty League pick this season as the sophomore set new career-highs in most of the major statistical categories. The outside hitter totaled 318 kills, which paced the Bombers as she had 3.28 kills per set. She also finished the season with 41 digs, 29 blocks, and three service aces. Clauhs totaled double-digit kill totals in two of the three matches played within the NCAA Tournament against both Lasell and Johns Hopkins.
Faith Sabatier had another strong season to earn her second-straight CSC Academic All-District honor. During her senior season The Woodlands, Texas, native hit at a .269 clip and hit above .400 on seven instances, including a season-best 17 kills against No. 20 NYU on Oct. 5. Sabatier finished the 2024 season with 214 kills, 42 digs and a career-high 41 blocks. Across her four-year career she totaled 776 kills and 105 total blocks while being a three-time Liberty League All-Academic recipient.
Ellie Benedict earned her second CSC Academic All-District honor after first being selected in the fall of 2023. The Webster, N.Y. transitioned to libero this season and totaled a career-high 403 digs where she totaled 3.95 per set and achieved 63 assists. She also went above 100 career aces during the NCAA tournament as she finished the year with 49 across 102 sets and 31 matches.
